When you lose at love, you have to put some new
strings on your guitar and play a new song. Start anew.
I wrote and recorded this song many years ago after my dog, Sam, had died. I met a woman on a Facebook group page for pet loss grief recovery. We gave each other emotional support and long-distance comfort. I probably wanted more, but she moved to Denver and found a boyfriend. It’s a little bit country. I hope you like it.
A lot of us are starting to realize that we have too much stuff.
I wrote "Seasons Pass" for my high school graduating class. I was asked to play it at our reunion but never got a chance due to an injury that sidelined me. I'm sorry to say that I've only been to one reunion, the very first one. It was a great class of students, but I never formed any real friendships.
I spent a lot of time on many of the different lakes in Michigan, just above the Indiana border. But I actually had Minnesota in mind when I wrote this song.
I hope some day the division ends and we become family again.
I worked with Glen Yarbrough's daughter, Holly, for many years in Amoco Oil Company's law department in Chicago where we were both paralegals. She shared many stories with me about her dad.
Bankruptcy is no joke, but it will pass, and sun will shine, again.
